I was born in Dublin, Ireland, immigrated to the United States at the age of two, and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. I spent eight years in Tucson, Arizona and for the last seventeen I have resided in East Texas with my wonderful husband Kevin. I have a passion for Old English Sheepdogs and had three of them running around at one time. At the moment, I have two…Bridie, my 9 year old and Maggie my 9 month old pup.
I travel to Ireland to visit friends and family almost yearly. I loved reading paranormal romances. I was always drawn to Newgrange when I visited Ireland and thought what a great place to have my novel revolve around. I began researching Irish mythology based around Newgrange. I found folklore indicating that when the Tuatha de Danann were conquered by the Milesians in about 2000BC they chose to go to ground under prehistoric tombs such as Newgrange. As Celtic Lore goes, they became the fairies or wee people (Leprechauns) of Ireland who are also known as the Sidhe. Other writers portrayed the Tuatha Dé Danann as tricksters or deadly fae (fairies). I decided to bring them into the same light as some of my favorite authors did with vampires and weres. So now, we have vamps, weres, and fae, all living in our neighborhoods and don’t even know it.
I write a series called the Daughter of Prophecy. Book one, Unknown Magic was released June 2010, Stolen Magic, the second in the series, in December 2010, and the third book, Lost Magic, was released December 2011. I am currently working on the forth book in the series, Coveted Magic. I also have a serial I am writing called The Cabin. It comes out once a month.
I just resigned as president of the East Texas Writers Association after serving five years. I am a member of the East Texas Writers Guild, North East Texas Writers Organization, Romance Writers of America, Fantasy, Futuristic and Paranormal, and the Kiss of Death.
